The Texas Association of Realtors is the main trade organization regarding the real estate industry in the state of Texas. The Texas Association of Realtors currently has over 90,000 realtors among its ranks and are represented by the various local boards or offices found throughout the state.
Furthermore, members of the Texas Association of Realtors are also members of the National Association of Realtors. This allows its members to use the registered trademark in their various marketing endeavors and activities.
One of the main aspects that members of the Texas Association of Realtors have that sets them apart from other licensed and practicing real estate professionals is the code of ethics they follow, which is instituted by the National Association of Realtors. Every member of the Texas Association of Realtors takes this oath, which is based on integrity, honesty, and professionalism at its core.
A main reason for this is due to the fact that the Texas Association of Realtors would be founded in an era where licenses and a strict code of ethics did not exist. Furthermore, this would mean that any person could essentially be involved in the real estate industry. Now, all prospective real estate professionals in the state of Texas must be fully accredited and licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission, which is the organization in authorized in the licensing procedures for the state.
