National Association of Realtors

The National Association of Realtors is the largest trade organization in the United States, consisting of over 1.2 million members, all of which are professionals in the real estate industry. 
Established in 1908 in order to provide for a formal organization to provide a more concise and specific set of parameters for practice in the real estate industry, it has become the leading organization in regards to all things real estate in the country.
The Columbus Board of Realtors has its history dating back to 1908, when it formed to be a non-profit professional trade organization. Since then, the Board has accumulated a total of 6,000 individuals that are licensed to practice real estate in the city.

The California Association of Realtors is the statewide organization that deals with all aspects of the real estate business within the state limits. The California Association of Realtors was first established as the California State Realty Federation on May 27th, 1905, and was headquartered in the city of Los Angeles. 
The reason that the organization was established was due to a growing concern involving misconduct or questionable ethics practices of in the real estate industry in the state. The foundation would undergo several name changes after its inception, the first being in 1920, when it became the California Real Estate Association, and again in 1975 when it changed to its current moniker.
The first president of the California Association was Francis F. Ferrier, at which time the entire Association was only comprised of nine Boards of Realtors. The California Association of Realtors is also in part responsible for the concept of real estate licenses being necessary in most states to practice in the profession. In 1919, a law was passed in the state of California requiring such licenses, and thus, became the first state to have a real estate license law. However, examinations and testing procedures to obtain real estate licenses in the state would not be implemented until 1923.
The California Association of Realtors has more than 155,000 total members, with 117 local associations throughout the state.

The Texas Association of Realtors is the main trade organization regarding the real estate industry in the state of Texas. The Texas Association of Realtors currently has over 90,000 realtors among its ranks and are represented by the various local boards or offices found throughout the state. 
Furthermore, members of the Texas Association of Realtors are also members of the National Association of Realtors. This allows its members to use the registered trademark in their various marketing endeavors and activities.
One of the main aspects that members of the Texas Association of Realtors have that sets them apart from other licensed and practicing real estate professionals is the code of ethics they follow, which is instituted by the National Association of Realtors. Every member of the Texas Association of Realtors takes this oath, which is based on integrity, honesty, and professionalism at its core. 
A main reason for this is due to the fact that the Texas Association of Realtors would be founded in an era where licenses and a strict code of ethics did not exist. Furthermore, this would mean that any person could essentially be involved in the real estate industry. Now, all prospective real estate professionals in the state of Texas must be fully accredited and licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission, which is the organization in authorized in the licensing procedures for the state.

The Florida Association of Realtors is the main institution in the state dealing with everything involving the real estate industry. The Florida Association of Realtors would have its beginnings tracing back to 1916, when real estate brokers from various Florida communities would hold a convention in Jacksonville. This would mark the beginning of the Florida Association of Realtors, having fairness, honesty, and professionalism as its main goals in creating the organization.
Currently, the Florida Association of Realtors has over 115,000 members, making it the largest real estate association in the state. The headquarters of the Florida Association of Realtors is located in Orlando, with the Office of Public Policy located in Tallahassee. The latter is the sector of the foundation in charge of overseeing nearly 4,000 proposed legislation changes on any given year, making it one of the most important facets of the organization.
The Florida Association of Realtors is currently headed by President Wendell Davis, and is the appointed President for the 2010 year. Wendell’s main focus as President of the Florida Association of Realtors is to focus providing education to its members and to provide for the necessary means to adjust the policies regarding real estate in Florida in order to benefit both the real estate professional and the consumer. 
The CEO of the organization is currently John Fridlington, who is responsible for the overall administration of the organization as well as the financial considerations.
